Dear Colleague,

I am writing to you on behalf of all EAGE staff to say how much we abhor the invasion of Ukraine and to let you know that we support all efforts to bring the death and destruction to an end with a peaceful solution.

We can only imagine the stress that you, your fellow EAGE members in Ukraine and all your families and loved ones must be under at this time. We also appreciate that your professional work may not be your first priority in these dark days. But we want to do what we can to help.

So, in support of Ukraine’s geoscientists and engineers, we are writing to tell you that EAGE is introducing a special fee waiver programme for the country’s geoscientists and engineers. Until further notice, we will welcome Ukrainian colleagues to participate in our workshops, conferences and education programmes, both in person and online, free of charge.

Ukrainian colleagues wishing to take advantage of this programme are asked to send their applications to membership@eage.org under the heading of Ukraine fee waiver.

This initiative has the support of PACE, our Programme for Association and Cooperation in Earth Sciences.

We know this is only a small gesture, but hope it is helpful for those of you who are still able to pursue your professional goals.

Meantime our thoughts are with you.

Sincerely,

Marcel van Loon
CEO
European Association of Geoscientist and Engineers (EAGE)
