The experience of Ukraine must be heard — on every possible international platform.
That is why, at the initiative of EAGE, the dedicated session DS-13: “Exploration in Times of Crisis: Lessons from Ukraine” has been created and will be held as part of the 75th Anniversary EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition, taking place in Aberdeen, UK, on 8–11 June 2026.
This session highlights the unique experience of conducting geological and geophysical exploration under crisis and wartime conditions. Despite unprecedented challenges — including security risks, logistical disruptions, and resource constraints — Ukrainian professionals continue advancing subsurface studies through adaptive strategies, innovative workflows, and the application of modern remote sensing, geophysical technologies, and digital tools.
The session will present real-world case studies demonstrating how exploration and monitoring can be successfully carried out in unstable or high-risk environments. These lessons are not only crucial for Ukraine but also highly relevant for regions worldwide facing natural, social, or geopolitical crises.

Розвідка в умовах кризи: уроки з України (DS-13)
Досвід України має бути почутий — на всіх можливих міжнародних майданчиках.
Саме тому за ініціативи EAGE створено спеціальну секцію DS-13 «Exploration in Times of Crisis: Lessons from Ukraine», яка відбудеться в рамках 75-ї ювілейної Щорічної конференції та виставки EAGE в Абердіні (Велика Британія) з 8 по 11 червня 2026 року.
Секція присвячена унікальному досвіду геологічних і геофізичних досліджень в умовах кризи та війни. Незважаючи на безпекові ризики, логістичні виклики та обмежені ресурси, українські фахівці продовжують розвідку надр, застосовуючи адаптивні підходи, інноваційні робочі процеси та сучасні технології дистанційного зондування, геофізики й цифрові інструменти.
У межах секції будуть представлені практичні кейси, що демонструють можливості проведення розвідки та моніторингу в нестабільних або високоризикових умовах. Цей досвід є важливим не лише для України, а й для регіонів світу, які стикаються з природними, соціальними або геополітичними кризами.
