Monitoring 2026 Featured in First Break: Conference Materials Now Available in EarthDoc

We are pleased to announce that an article dedicated to the XIX International Scientific Conference “Monitoring of Geological Processes and Ecological Condition of the Environment” (Monitoring 2026) has been published in the latest issue of First Break, the flagship magazine of EAGE.

The publication highlights the importance of Monitoring 2026 as the first fully in-person EAGE conference in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war and reflects on the resilience of the Ukrainian geoscience community in maintaining scientific cooperation during extremely challenging times.

Held in Kyiv in April 2026, the conference brought together more than 250 participants from academia, industry, and governmental institutions and included 163 scientific presentations across eight technical themes. Particular attention was given to:

  • War Impact Monitoring & UXO Detection Technologies
  • Monitoring for Energy Transition and Decarbonization Projects
  • Digital Monitoring Technologies, Data Integration and AI in Geosciences

The conference also featured a panel discussion on “Geological Monitoring in Times of Crisis: From Data to Decision-Making”, alongside presentations showcasing innovative applications of UAV-based geophysics, GIS technologies, environmental assessment, UXO detection, and AI-driven geoscientific workflows.

A special highlight of the conference was the participation of EAGE representatives, including Peter Verweij, who delivered a presentation on EarthDoc AI and agentic approaches in geoscience knowledge systems, demonstrating new opportunities for integrating artificial intelligence into professional geoscience workflows.

Conference Proceedings Available in EarthDoc

We are also pleased to inform participants and colleagues that the Monitoring 2026 conference proceedings are now available in the EarthDoc database, providing access to abstracts and conference materials for the wider international geoscience community.

This represents another important step in ensuring the visibility of Ukrainian scientific achievements and promoting international collaboration.
